camera dolly
Wheeled camera mount
A camera dolly is a wheeled platform that moves a film or video camera smoothly during shooting.
The dolly typically rolls on tracks or a flat surface, allowing fluid horizontal movement toward, away from, or alongside subjects.
A dolly shot tracks this motion; to dolly in is to move the camera closer.
Compare with handheld or stationary tripod shots.
