brown note

Legendary bowel frequency

The brown note is a hypothetical low-frequency sound that would cause listeners to involuntarily lose control of their bowels.

Despite occasional claims, no such frequency has been demonstrated to exist.

The concept circulates in acoustic folklore and was popularized by a *South Park* episode: They tried to find the brown note with subwoofers.
