bronco riding
Bucking horse sport
Bronco riding is a rodeo event in which a competitor attempts to stay mounted on a bucking horse for a set time, typically eight seconds.
The sport tests both the rider's balance and grip and the horse's wildness—the more violently the bronco bucks, the higher the potential score.
Two main forms exist: bareback bronc riding, where the rider holds a leather rigging with one hand, and saddle bronc riding, which uses a specialized saddle and rein.
He grew up on a ranch and started bronco riding as a teenager.
