brillo pad
Abrasive kitchen tool
A Brillo pad is a steel wool cleaning pad, typically embedded with soap, used to scour pots, pans, and other surfaces with stubborn grime.
The brand name has become genericized, so people often say "brillo pad" for any similar scouring pad regardless of manufacturer.
I need a Brillo pad to get this burnt cheese off the pan.
The distinctive curly metallic texture also inspires comparisons to very coarse or tightly curled hair.
