A bridge cable is one of the heavy steel cables that support a suspension bridge, running from towers to anchorages and holding up the roadway through vertical suspender cables.
The main cables on major bridges can be over a meter in diameter, composed of thousands of individual wires bundled together: Workers inspected the bridge cables for corrosion.
