at-bats
Turns facing pitchers
At-bats is the plural of at-bat, a baseball term for an official turn at the plate.
A batter's at-bats exclude walks, hit-by-pitches, and sacrifice plays—only plate appearances that could result in a hit or out count toward the statistic.
Batting average is calculated by dividing hits by at-bats: He's hitting .300 in 200 at-bats this season.
