blowpipes

Jungle hunter's weapons

Blowpipes are tubes through which a user blows to propel something—either a projectile like a dart, or a stream of air to intensify a flame.

As weapons or hunting tools, blowpipes have been used by indigenous peoples worldwide to shoot poison-tipped darts at prey or enemies.

In metalworking and glassblowing, a blowpipe directs air into a fire to increase its heat, or shapes molten glass by blowing air through it.
