blockaders

Ships preventing passage

Blockaders are those who conduct or enforce a blockade—the sealing off of a place to prevent goods or people from entering or leaving.

The term appears most often in military and naval contexts: Union blockaders patrolled the Southern coast.

It can also describe protesters who physically obstruct access to buildings or facilities.
