blind valley
Valley without outlet
A blind valley is a valley that ends abruptly at a rock face or steep slope, with no outlet for water drainage.
The term is most common in karst landscapes, where streams flow into the valley but disappear underground through sinkholes or caves rather than continuing overland: The river vanished at the head of the blind valley, swallowed by limestone.
