A blackballer is someone who casts a vote against admitting a person to a club, organization, or group.
The term comes from the practice of voting with balls—white for yes, black for no—where a single black ball could block admission.
More broadly, a blackballer is anyone who excludes or ostracizes another: The committee's most notorious blackballer had rejected dozens of applicants over the years.
