black mage
Shadow magic wielder
A black mage is a character class in fantasy games and fiction specializing in offensive and destructive magic—fire, lightning, death spells—as opposed to white mages who heal and protect.
The archetype originated in early Japanese role-playing games and typically appears robed and mysterious: I'm playing a black mage so I can nuke enemies from the back row.
