Sleeping furniture frames
Bedsteads is the plural of bedstead, the frame that supports a mattress and bedding.
A bedstead typically includes a headboard, footboard, and side rails, distinct from the mattress itself: The antique brass bedsteads were worth more than everything else in the estate sale.
The term is somewhat old-fashioned, as bed now covers the whole assembly.
