authorization code
Permission entry sequence
An authorization code is a sequence of characters that grants permission to access a system, complete a transaction, or verify identity.
In computing, it's often a temporary code exchanged during authentication—particularly in OAuth flows, where a user's approval generates a code that an application trades for access tokens.
Credit card transactions may require an authorization code confirming the bank approved the charge.
