security code
Gate entry combination
A security code is a short sequence of numbers or characters used to verify identity or authorize access.
On credit and debit cards, it's the three- or four-digit number printed separately from the main card number, required for online purchases to prove you have the physical card.
Security codes also appear on gift cards, door keypads, and alarm systems.
