ashtanga
Rigorous yoga tradition
Ashtanga is a physically demanding style of yoga featuring a fixed sequence of postures performed in continuous flow, synchronized with breath.
The practice moves through the same poses in the same order each session, building heat and endurance: I do ashtanga six days a week.
Sometimes called ashtanga vinyasa to distinguish it from the broader eight-limbed yoga philosophy from which it takes its name.
