Cultural celebration events
Art festivals are organized events celebrating visual arts, often held outdoors in public spaces.
Artists display and sell work—paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry—while attendees browse booths and watch demonstrations.
Some festivals focus on specific media or styles; others are broad community gatherings: We spent Saturday at the art festival downtown.
Distinguished from art fairs, which tend toward commercial gallery transactions.
