art festival
Outdoor gallery event
An art festival is an organized public event showcasing visual arts, often held outdoors over several days.
Artists display and sell work in booths or tents, and attendees browse, buy, and sometimes watch demonstrations.
Some art festivals focus on specific media—pottery, glass, photography—while others are juried competitions with prizes.
The annual art festival draws thousands to the downtown square.
