anti-theism
Opposition to religion
Anti-theism goes beyond mere disbelief in gods to active opposition to theism and religious belief.
Where atheism is simply the absence of belief, anti-theism holds that religion is harmful and should be challenged or eliminated.
An anti-theist might argue that religious institutions cause social damage or that belief in gods impedes human progress.
His anti-theism made family gatherings awkward during grace.
