action pose
Mid-movement frozen position
An action pose is a body position suggesting dynamic movement or physical exertion—a figure mid-leap, throwing a punch, or drawing a bow.
The term is common in art instruction, figure drawing, and discussions of comic book illustration or action figures: The sculptor captured the athlete in an action pose.
Action poses convey energy and drama, contrasting with static or resting positions.
