actinic
Causing chemical change
Actinic describes light or radiation capable of producing chemical changes, particularly the ultraviolet rays that cause sunburn, fade pigments, or expose photographic film.
In medicine, actinic conditions result from sun damage: actinic keratosis is a rough skin patch from cumulative UV exposure that may become cancerous.
