Zip drive
Floppy disk successor
A Zip drive is a removable disk storage system introduced by Iomega in 1994 that was popular through the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The disks resembled thick floppy disks and initially held 100 megabytes, later expanding to 250 and 750 megabytes—capacities that seemed impressive before CD burners and USB flash drives became standard.
Zip drives were widely used for backing up files and transferring data too large for floppies.
I kept all my college papers on Zip disks.
