Weather Underground
Sixties militant group
Weather Underground was a radical left-wing organization in the United States during the late 1960s and 1970s, formed from the Students for a Democratic Society.
The group conducted bombings of government buildings and banks to protest the Vietnam War and racism.
Members called themselves Weathermen, from the Bob Dylan lyric "you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows." The name now also refers to a popular weather forecasting website and app, unrelated to the political group.
