John Birch Society
Far-right political group
The John Birch Society is a far-right American political organization founded in 1958, named after a Baptist missionary killed by Chinese communists.
The group promotes limited government, anti-communism, and conspiracy theories about elite globalist plots.
Members are called Birchers: My uncle went full Bircher after reading about the New World Order.
The society was influential in mid-twentieth-century conservative politics but became marginalized for its extremism.
