Wanderer
Named roving figure
A wanderer is someone who moves from place to place without a fixed home or destination.
Historically, wanderers include nomads, who follow seasonal patterns for survival, and itinerants, who travel for work or trade.
In literature, wanderers often symbolize freedom or existential searching, as in the archetype of the “wandering hero.” The term also applies to celestial objects, like planets, which were called “wandering stars” in ancient astronomy.
The wanderer roamed the countryside, carrying only a satchel and a walking stick.
