Valencian

Eastern Spanish regional

Valencian refers to the Romance language spoken in the Valencia region of eastern Spain, or to people and things from that region.

Linguists generally classify Valencian as a dialect of Catalan, though this is politically contentious—many Valencians consider it a distinct language.

The term also describes the regional culture, cuisine, and traditions: Valencian paella, Valencian Gothic architecture.
