Tannenbaum

Yuletide tree, abroad

Tannenbaum is the German word for fir tree, familiar to English speakers from the Christmas carol "O Tannenbaum." In English contexts, it usually refers either to the song or to a Christmas tree: We sang Tannenbaum around the piano.
