TTL metering
Sensor-based exposure reading
TTL metering is a camera system that measures light through the lens (through-the-lens) to calculate proper exposure.
The camera reads light as it passes through the actual taking lens, accounting for filters, focal length, and aperture.
TTL flash metering extends this to control flash output automatically: The TTL metering nailed the exposure even in tricky backlighting.
