T-Pain

Robotic voice crooner

T-Pain is the stage name of American singer and rapper Faheem Rashad Najm, known for popularizing Auto-Tune as a deliberate vocal effect in the late 2000s.

His heavily processed, robotic vocal style became so ubiquitous in hip-hop and R&B that it defined an era: That song has the T-Pain sound.

The name derives from "Tallahassee Pain," referencing his Florida hometown.
