featured artist
Song's credited collaborator
A featured artist is a musician who appears on a track primarily credited to another artist, typically contributing a verse, hook, or vocal section.
The designation appears in song credits as "featuring" or "feat." and signals a collaboration rather than equal partnership: The song features a guest verse from a featured artist.
Featured artists often bring cross-genre appeal or boost visibility for emerging acts.
