Siamese twins
Physically attached twins
Siamese twins are twins whose bodies are joined at birth, sharing some organs or tissue.
The term comes from Chang and Eng Bunker, conjoined twins from Siam (now Thailand) who became famous in 19th-century exhibitions.
The clinical term *conjoined twins* is now preferred in medical contexts, as Siamese twins can sound dated or insensitive.
