Senate resolution
Legislative chamber's statement
A Senate resolution is a formal expression of the will or opinion of a legislative body's upper chamber.
In the U.S.
Congress, Senate resolutions may express the sense of the Senate on policy matters, establish internal rules, or authorize investigations.
Unlike bills, simple resolutions don't require House approval or presidential signature and don't carry the force of law: The Senate passed a resolution condemning the attacks.
