Seminole Nation
Unconquered indigenous people
The Seminole Nation is a federally recognized Native American tribe based in Oklahoma, one of the largest tribal nations in the United States.
Originally inhabiting Florida, the Seminole people were forcibly relocated to Indian Territory during the 1830s and 1840s as part of the Trail of Tears.
The Seminole Nation of Oklahoma is distinct from the Seminole Tribe of Florida, which represents those who resisted removal and remained in the Everglades region.
