Saint Mark
Second Gospel author
Saint Mark is one of the four evangelists, traditionally credited with writing the Gospel of Mark in the New Testament.
Christian tradition identifies him as a companion of the apostle Peter and later of Paul.
He is the patron saint of Venice, where his symbol—the winged lion—appears throughout the city.
His feast day is April 25.
