Röntgen
Röntgen is a unit measuring radiation exposure, named for Wilhelm Röntgen, the German physicist who discovered X-rays in 1895.
The unit quantifies ionizing radiation's effect on air.
Though largely replaced by the coulomb per kilogram in scientific contexts, röntgen remains common in medical and safety discussions: The technician measured background radiation in röntgens.
