Passover seders
Spring Jewish feasts
Passover seders are the ritual meals held on the first nights of Passover, the Jewish holiday commemorating the Exodus from Egypt.
The word seder means "order" in Hebrew, referring to the prescribed sequence of prayers, songs, symbolic foods, and readings from the Haggadah.
Families gather to retell the story of liberation, eat unleavened bread (matzah), and drink four cups of wine: We're hosting the seder this year.
Most Jews outside Israel hold two seders, on the first two nights.
