P-47

Heavy American fighter

The P-47 Thunderbolt was a World War II American fighter aircraft, one of the largest and heaviest single-engine fighters of the war.

Built by Republic Aviation, it served primarily as a fighter-bomber, excelling at ground attack with its heavy armament and ability to absorb damage.

Pilots nicknamed it the Jug, short for juggernaut.
