OOC

Not in persona

OOC stands for "out of character," used in roleplaying contexts when someone steps outside their fictional persona to speak as themselves: OOC: I need to take a break for dinner.

It distinguishes player commentary from in-character dialogue.

The term appears in tabletop gaming, online roleplay forums, and fan fiction communities.

OOC can also describe behavior inconsistent with an established character: That reaction seems OOC for her.
