Military crime investigators
NCIS stands for Naval Criminal Investigative Service, the primary law enforcement agency for the U.S.
Navy and Marine Corps, investigating felonies, counterintelligence, and terrorism.
The acronym is far better known from the long-running CBS television franchise depicting a fictional NCIS team: I've seen every episode of NCIS.
