Multiverse
Franchise's parallel worlds
A multiverse is a hypothetical collection of multiple universes, including our own, that together comprise all of reality.
The concept appears in theoretical physics, where it emerges from quantum mechanics and cosmology, and in fiction, where characters encounter alternate versions of themselves or history: In the multiverse, there's a version of you who made different choices.
The idea has moved from niche science fiction to mainstream entertainment.
