Morse key

Tapping sends signals

A Morse key is a switch used to send Morse code by telegraph, operated by pressing a lever to complete an electrical circuit.

The operator taps out dots and dashes—short and long signals—that represent letters and numbers.

Also called a telegraph key.

He practiced on the Morse key until he could send thirty words per minute.
