Mexicanized

Given Mexican character

Mexicanized describes something that has been adapted to reflect Mexican culture, style, or characteristics.

Food is most commonly Mexicanized—adding chiles, cumin, or cilantro to dishes from other cuisines, or adapting foreign foods to Mexican tastes: The restaurant serves Mexicanized sushi with jalapeño and chipotle mayo.

The term can also apply to language, music, or customs that have taken on Mexican influences.

Like similar -ized formations, it can be used neutrally or with mild disapproval depending on context.
