Tegucigalpa

Honduras's main city

Tegucigalpa is the capital and largest city of Honduras, located in a mountainous valley in the south-central part of the country.

The name comes from Nahuatl and likely means "silver hills," reflecting the region's colonial mining history.

We flew into Tegucigalpa and then drove north to the coast.
