London fog
Victorian pea-souper
London fog names two distinct things linked by their misty gray-brown color.
The older sense is the thick, polluted smog that plagued London through the mid-twentieth century, caused by coal smoke mixing with natural fog.
The newer sense is a tea latte made with Earl Grey, steamed milk, and vanilla: I'll have a London fog with oat milk.
