Florida orange

Southeastern U.S. citrus

A Florida orange is a citrus fruit grown in Florida, one of the world's major orange-producing regions.

The state's warm, humid climate and sandy soil produce oranges known for their juiciness, making them particularly prized for juice rather than eating out of hand.

Most of the orange juice in my fridge comes from Florida oranges.

The term distinguishes these from California oranges, which tend to have thicker skins and are better suited for eating fresh.
