Liberal Party

Centre-left political group

Liberal Party names center-right to centrist political parties in several countries, most notably Australia, Canada, and historically Britain.

Despite the name, these parties typically advocate market economics and individual liberty rather than progressive social policies—liberal in the classical European sense.

In Australia, the Liberal Party has been the main conservative party since 1944.

In Canada, the Liberal Party has governed for much of the nation's history, occupying the political center.
