Kongo

Central African tongue

Kongo refers to a Bantu-speaking people of west-central Africa, primarily in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, and Angola, or to their language.

The Kongo kingdom was among the most powerful in precolonial Africa.
