Kismet

Theatrical Arabian fortune

Kismet is fate or destiny—the idea that events are predetermined and beyond human control.

The word comes from Turkish and Arabic, carrying a sense of cosmic inevitability: It was kismet that we met.

Often used for fortunate coincidences that feel meant to be: Call it kismet, but I found the perfect apartment the day my lease expired.
