Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Famous oval track
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a racing circuit in Speedway, Indiana, home to the Indianapolis 500.
Built in 1909, it's one of the oldest motorsport venues in the world.
The track's 2.5-mile oval is nicknamed "the Brickyard" because the original surface was paved with millions of bricks—a yard-wide strip of which remains at the start-finish line.
