Saffron, white, green
The Indian flag, also called the Tricolour, is India's national flag—three horizontal stripes of saffron, white, and green with a navy blue wheel (the Ashoka Chakra) at center.
The wheel has twenty-four spokes representing the hours of the day and continuous progress.
The Indian flag was hoisted at the stroke of midnight on August 15, 1947.
