Hank Hill

Hank Hill is the protagonist of the animated television series *King of the Hill*, which aired from 1997 to 2010.

He's a propane salesman in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas—earnest, conservative, and deeply uncomfortable with anything he considers improper or unmanly.

The character has become shorthand for a certain type of middle-American dad: well-meaning but rigid, proud of his work ethic, and perpetually baffled by modern culture.
